NET-EX Sensor

State-of-the-art ATEX/IECEx gas sensor with integrated electronics and sensor. The NET-EX sensor is a state-of-the-art ATEX solution with 4-20 mA and Modbus transmitter outputs, enclosed in a chrome-nickel housing.
An electrochemical, infrared, or pellistor sensor can be connected to the electronic circuit integrated in the housing. NET-EX is built into a two-piece flameproof housing: the lower part contains a chromium-nickel nonwoven filter that allows gas to pass through; the upper part contains the electronic circuit and sensor.
The selected sensor is mounted in a special protective capsule that keeps it in the correct position, ensuring maximum performance.
The versatility of the housing and the set of protective capsules allows standard electrochemical oxygen and toxic gas sensors to be installed in NET-EX. The two-piece NET-EX housing allows for easy sensor replacement. The lower part of the housing has an M46X1.5 thread for easy installation of accessories or the sensor. Cable connectors are available as standard with an M20x1.5 thread, or on request with an M25x1.5 or 3/3″ thread.

The NET-EX sensor has been tested and certified in accordance with the ATEX directive.

Dust protection and increased IP rating are available on request in the form of an additional thread-mounted adapter.

Features:

  • 4-20 mA output for connection to analog systems
  • RS485 (Modbus) for operation in digital systems
  • Three clear multi-color indicator LEDs visible from a distance of several dozen meters
  • Compatibility with IR, EC, and pellistor sensors
  • The system is delivered complete with a configured and calibrated sensor
  • Customized versions are available on request
  • Simple calibration at the workplace
  • System management software
  • Full compliance of the certified flameproof enclosure with ATEX
  • 9-30 VDC power supply
  • Available in standard version, with angle head and with cable head

NET-EX Sensors have:

  • 4-20 mA output for cooperation with older BMS, SCADA, and PLC management systems
  • Modbus RTU output for cooperation with any modern BMS, SCADA, and PLC control panels with digital network communication, in particular with dedicated BZ and JBSM systems manufactured by JBK
  • visible service and alarm signals
  • protection against sensor damage caused by excessive gas concentration (optional)
  • settings stored in the memory of the measuring sensor’s electronics

The Modbus RTU output port allows for:

  • building extensive digital networks with gas sensors with a single line length of over 1 km
  • gaining full control over the sensor through access to its microprocessor
  • the ability to perform remote procedures in the sensor controller, including remote sending of calibration messages
  • continuous, unmodifiable, and non-repudiable measurement of sensor status, including digital readout of data, alarms, and errors
  • collection of historical data in BMS, SCADA, and PLC systems

Safe, robust housing for a wide range of applications:

  • The housing, which is a combination of aluminum and stainless steel, is adapted to a wide range of environmental conditions
  • The housing with a tempered glass window, a highly fire-resistant design, and a specially selected sensor chamber separation filter that dissipates gas energy ensure that the instrument remains functional for a very long time after a fire breaks out
  • The Ex “d” design allows for direct connection of devices (control panels) from outside the explosion hazard zone, without the need for additional material and labor costs for the installation of intrinsically safe barriers

Ergonomy and safety:

  • The sensor connection housing allows the sensor to be installed separately from the distribution housing
  • The distribution box is installed in a conveniently visible and accessible location, while the measuring sensor is installed close to the anticipated gas cloud, often in a hard-to-reach location.

Technology of tommorow:

NDIR (non-dispersive infrared) technology, the most advanced infrared technology, combined with
dedicated management electronics, enables unprecedented quality, stability, and
repeatability of detection.
The advantage of the NDIR sensors offered is the practical absence of zero and maximum value drift. The higher
purchase price is more than compensated for over a minimum of 5 years by avoiding expensive
periodic sensor calibrations.
